Multicast Steam

In multicast streaming a single stream originates from the media server but multiple media clients access this stream. This is done using a multimedia router between media server and media clients

Multicast has following features

• All clients share the same stream
• Not connection based protocol
• User joins the broadcast stream through a discovery URL.
• Multicast routers are needed to enable this feature.

Unicast Stream

A separate stream originates from media server for each client. This type of streaming increases the load on server
